Acne & Oily Skin

Our skin produces sebum. This sebum along with sweat forms the acid mantle. When the skin produces excess sebum, it is called oily. Is there any connection between oily skin and acne? Yes, excess sebum may block pores and provide nourishment to the bacteria P. acnes. Excess sebum may thus contribute to acne aggravation.

Care Of Oily Skin To Avoid Acne -

  • Remove excess oil with oil blotting paper and other oil removing products.
  • Tretinoin and Salicylic acid dry the skin and keep the pores open. Use products formulated with them.
  • Avoid over washing of the skin.
