Acne- Why No Quick Results?

Acne- Why Does Acne Not Clear Quickly?

Many of us get restive if we do not find considerable improvement in acne within two to three weeks. Some of us are looking for results within a couple of days. This hurry to get results and the frustration makes one change medication from time to time, hoping that one will remove the acne in a jiffy. Does that happen?

Unfortunately there is no quick cure for acne. Any medication needs at least six weeks to give results. You may ask, what if that medication was wrong for your acne? To know if you are using the correct medication, observe the results after two weeks. If you find no change by that time, you may consider changing the medicine.

If you are in a hurry to treat cystic acne you can speak to your doctor about injecting the acne cyst with steroids. That will shrink the acne in a couple of days. Please note that this cannot be done frequently. Steroids are very potent medicines and need to be used very carefully.

Acne & Sunshine

Despite the belief that acne gets cleared by sunshine, there is no scientific evidence to this. Excess sun can damage your skin rather than treating acne.
