Many of us believe that the black color of the blackheads is dirt. We associate dirt with acne. Dirt is surely not something to have on the skin, but dirt has no connection with acne. The black color of blackheads is due to the oxidized sebum. It is not dirt.

In an attempt to keep your face oil and dirt free, do not indulge in over-washing. Over-washing of the skin removes the much needed acid mantle. Acid mantle protects us from bacterial attacks and keeps the skin hydrated.

Wash your face with a gentle cleanser twice a day. Be gentle with your skin to keep it acne free.
