Acne - Pimples
The second stage of acne is also known as pimples or zits. A pimple may be a papule or a pustule. Both are small lesions with a difference. A pustule is filled with pus and other infected matter whereas a papule is full of solid cellular mass.
Papule:
A papule is slightly elevated solid acne. It does not contain pus. A papule may grow in to nodular acne.
Pustule:
Pustules are filled with liquid mass containing dead skin cells, white blood cells, sebum and bacteria. Pustules are fragile and rupture easily. Pustules may progress to cysts.
A pimple is the most common form of acne. Not all of us will develop cysts and nodules. Many of us never get the severe form of acne. But most of us do get pimples.

|
Despite the belief that acne gets cleared by sunshine, there is no scientific evidence to this. Excess sun can damage your skin rather than treating acne.
