Genital Herpes: This Bump On My Genitals - Is It Herpes Or a Boil?
Sometimes you may mistake a herpes bump to be ingrown hair or a boil. In most of the cases, a day or two before herpes lesions erupt, you will feel a little tingling, pain or itching sensation on the skin. That may indicate herpes.
Herpes may also be accompanied by flu-like fever symptoms. Painful urination and headache are other symptoms of herpes. The herpes lesions crust and heal within a month during the first episode of herpes. If you have any symptom other than a boil, get screened and find out if you have genital herpes.
