Triggers Of Herpes
Herpes virus remains dormant in the body for life. When it gets triggered, it travels back to the genital skin and breaks-out. Not every person gets herpes repeatedly. Some people may never show an outbreak again whereas some people have four to five outbreaks every year. It has been found that certain triggers make herpes outbreak again. Everyone will have his/her own trigger. But many times herpes may break out even though you may be managing your triggers well. But it is possible to reduce the number of outbreaks if you identify factors that trigger genital herpes.
The common triggers of genital herpes are:
- Stress (both physical and emotional)
- Illness
- Steroids
- Sun exposure
- Poor diet
- Friction in the genital area due to sexual activity or obesity or tight clothing.
Some of these triggers are manageable while it may not be possible to control others. Find out what triggers your herpes and try to manage that. Obsession with the trigger may not help. Relax and try to look at herpes as something that can be lived with easily.
