Eflornithine hydrochloride is recommended for women who have unwanted hair on the face because of disorders such as hirsutism, or more hair growth during menopause or because of some hormonal disturbance or polycystic ovarian syndrome. Eflornithine hydrochloride stops the action of the enzyme 'ornithine decarboxylase' that is mainly responsible for stimulating hair growth.
