  • Nail infection can be caused by both - a fungus or a yeast.

  • Nail plate may come out because of nail fungal infection.
  • Ringworm can infect the nails. If you have ringworm and scratch it with nails, you may infect the nails.
  • The infection can be treated with anti-fungal medications.
  • Toe nails get infected more than finger nails.
  • Topical application of anti-fungal cream may not penetrate the nail fully.
  • Fungal infection takes time to get cured.
