  • Dandruff is a form of Seborrheic Dermatitis.
  • Dandruff begins after puberty because it is connected with sebaceous glands.
  • Dandruff itches because of inflammation that may be present.
  • Dandruff is not caused due to dry skin.
  • Dandruff is believed to be caused by a fungus.
  • In dandruff, the affected area, normally the scalp, sheds cells at a higher than normal speed. These dead cells combine with sebum and form flakes.
  • The fungus feeds on the sebum. If your scalp is oilier, dandruff is difficult to control.
