Laser Resurfacing: Effects Of Laser Resurfacing

Effects Of Laser Resurfacing

Laser removes the skin, layer by layer and is used to improve

  • Uneven pigmentation
  • Blotchy spots
  • Wrinkles and fine lines
  • Smoker's lines
  • Scar removal
  • Crows' feet
  • Eyelid skin

Your doctor will examine your problems and advise you about which laser can best be used to treat you and explain the other issues. Laser resurfacing is not useful to remove jowls and skin folds. There are many lasers that can be used to treat you. Some of them are- Carbon Dioxide (CO2) laser, Erbium (Er) laser and Er:YAG laser. Ask your doctor about non-ablative lasers. In laser resurfacing, the laser burns the skin layer by layer, while in non-ablative procedures, it works under the skin surface. This laser treatment stimulates growth of collagen, tightens the skin and erases the fine wrinkles, lines and mild skin damage. Please discuss in detail with your doctor about this.
