Treatment Of Atopic Dermatitis With Photo Therapy
This treatment is done with ultraviolet light. It is effective treatment for severe atopic dermatitis. But this therapy is not commonly used because it has potential side-effects and is also expensive. This cannot be generally performed at home. In this therapy, the affected skin is exposed to UV light for few minutes, two to three times a week, depending upon the severity of the disease. Patients with photo-sensitivity cannot take this treatment. Your doctor may continue treatment with topical applications along with photo therapy. This therapy sometimes increases dryness and moisturizers should be used copiously.
