An inflammation of the skin is called dermatitis. Eczema is a term that includes every dermatitis. These may include -
All the above types of eczema will itch and cause redness. Some of them are not dry, but weep. Some types peel and form blisters. Though the term eczema is frequently used for atopic dermatitis, as said before - the term eczema includes many other conditions. Out of the above, atopic dermatitis is most chronic and severe.
