Balanitis: Causes

Causes Of Balanitis

Balanitis is not a sexually transmitted disease. It is mainly caused by the yeast candida or by bacteria. The inflammation occurs if the penile area is not kept clean. Diabetics are more prone to get balanitis. Obese people are more susceptible too. Harsh soaps can also aggravate balanitis. All these factors help the infective yeast or bacteria to multiply and create inflammation of the head of the penis and the foreskin.
